Recital Costume

Recital costumes will begin to go home with students beginning on Wednesday, May 27th 2020. Costumes will be distributed by the last name of the Student, (Not Parent). All costume and tuition balances must be paid in full to receive your costumes. Costumes will be safely bagged with the student’s names on them. Costumes will be distributed curbside in the Miss Tanya’s School of Dance parking lot. Please park in the spots closest to the entrance of the studio. We are asking that you have your child’s first and last name clearly written in large letters on paper and put it in your windshield for us to see. We will bring out the costumes to your vehicle. If you have a trunk, please open it and we can put costumes in there. Dancers with multiple costumes will be packaged together and families with siblings will have their costumes packaged together. Please mark these dates and times on your calendars, as no other dates will be given. If there is a situation that you cannot make the listed date, please email the studio and we will do our best to try to accommodate you.

We would still love to have a recital, but the reality of a large event may not happen this year. Most auditoriums have cancelled all events, so finding another venue will be difficult. There is also the unknown of when large groups will be able to gather, or what social distancing requirements there will be on the stage. We also need to return into the studio to train for a minimum of 5 to 6 weeks so that students will feel prepared to perform on stage for a recital and it does not look promising that we will be opening anytime soon. If we cannot have a recital, we are hoping to re-use some of the costumes that were purchased for this year’s recital. Many costume companies do bring back the same style costumes yearly, but we cannot guarantee that and if a students out grows their costume a new one would have to be ordered. Some costume companies will not allow us to exchange sizes for new ones after a certain date, and other companies have extended their size exchange policy until December 2020. There are other companies that will not allow any size exchanges at all due to Covid 19. Younger students have a tendency to go up a size yearly, but we will do our best to try and use the costumes that were purchased this season. Please keep your costumes in a safe place, as they may be used for the next season, but we cannot guarantee that.
