Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Classical Ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet.

*To take a (non-leveled) Contemporary class, a student must be enrolled in a Ballet class.  a

*To take a leveled Contemporary class, a student must have a minimum 2 yrs. Ballet training and be enrolled in a leveled Ballet class.

Dress Code: Black Leotard, hot shorts and sports bra.  Bare legs, stirrup or convertible tan tights.

Shoes:  Bloch Spin II dance shoe.

Boys: White t-shirt, black jazz pants or black shorts & barefoot
