2023/2024 Competition & Workshop dates

Tentative 2023 - 2024 Company Schedule

Listed below is the 2023-2024 tentative competition schedule, national dates and venue, workshops and showcase dates. Please keep in mind that these are tentative dates. Listed below are FOUR Competitions and possibly two workshops. Monsters of Hip Hop is not coming to Connecticut in December this year. The event this season will be held in Boston during the February school vacation, so unfortunately, we will not be attending. If you did win a scholarship and would like to attend, please let the front counter staff know and we will register you, but no instructors will be attending the event. A Hip Hop workshop date and location will be released shortly.

This year is our national event. The Small-Fry Company will NOT participate in the Nationals.

Workshops

Tremaine Dance Convention – February 3rd – 4th 2024. Location: The Westin Boston Seaport. All technical companies will attend. Hip Hop company members that are not on a technical company are not required to attend this event. The convention levels are determined based on the dancers’ age as of January 1st, 2024, to determine what age group they will attend. Some company members on the same company may not be in the same room together, as again it is based on age. Prices will be given at a later date.

Showcase
We will have a Company Showcase this season. The tentative date is Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, with a snow date of Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, at Fitchburg State Auditorium. We will have two shows. All Companies will participate. Just a reminder that Company members are required to participate in our Company Showcase and are required to sell 6 tickets each, which is in the new company contract that will be emailed in September. We did have to increase the number of mandatory tickets sold, as the cost of the auditorium did increase substantially.

2024 - Competitions

March 8th – March 10th, 2024 – Groove Competition – Westbrook Maine. Venue: Westbrook Performing Arts Center, 471 Stroudwater Street, Westbrook Maine. Hotel information will be given out at a later date.

April 26th – April 28th, 2024 – Beyond The Stars Competition – Turner Falls - JA’Duke Center Performing Arts– Turners Fall Mass. The host hotel has not been listed yet. As soon as we receive information it will be emailed out.

May 3rd – May 5th, 2024 – Breakout Dance Competition – Lowell Memorial Auditorium, 50 E Merrimack St Lowell Mass.

May 17th – 19th ,2024 - ID Dance Competition – Worcester Mass – Venue will be given out once it is posted.

National Event: Breakout Dance Competition – July 14th – July 20th, 2024 – Atlantic City NJ. Venue: Harrah’s Resort, 777 Harrah’s Blvd. Atlantic City NJ. The prices and booking information for the hotel is not available yet. We will send out a separate email with all this information once it is released from the competition. The Small-Fry company will NOT attend Nationals.

The mandatory Pre-Competition payment plan for ALL returning company members begins in July and will continue for the months of August, September, October, November & January. There is no payment due in the month of December. If company members are in two or three companies, the extra company payment amounts are required. Fees collected will be applied to Competition Entry Fees and Teacher Travel Fees.  The payments that are made monthly, will go into a separate account for each company member, almost like a savings account. When it comes time to enter students into competitions, our staff applies the funds that you have pre-paid to the entry fees that each competition sets. Pre-Competition payments cannot be used for any workshops. If any money is left over at the end of the competition season, it can be applied to recital costume balances, tuition or the 5-week summer program. Payments are due on or before the 10^th of the month.  Payments MUST be Cash or Check only. NO credit cards please.  If payments are late, a $10.00 late fee will be added weekly thereafter.

The new season will be a national event year. More information will be given at a later date.

Sapphire Hip Hop Company - 70.00 per month (July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov & Jan)

Acro Company - $70.00 per month (July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov & Jan)

Small - Fry Company - (was Prep) - $70.00 per month (July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov & Jan)

Petite Company - (was Mini) - $150.00 per month (July & Aug) $125.00 per month (Sept, Oct, Nov & Jan.)

Junior Company - (was Petite) - $185.00 per month (July & Aug) $135.00 per month (Sept, Oct, Nov & Jan.)
